Wow thank you Archbishop Chaput. You're right. For me the whole nature of how we see the papacy has to change. The papacy has gone from being the Rock upon which our foundations rested to being a bulldozer running roughshod over everything in its path. One feels this most sharply in the liturgical sphere. A lot of the sweeping and unilateral changes made to the Catholic Church's liturgical life by various popes going back to Pius X in 1911 at the very least could use some reexamination since we now have more than a century under our belt of living with their consequences.
