Jayd Henricks dismantles the myth that the Church's membership hemorrhage would stop if only she would liberalize her beliefs.
Hendricks opens his discussion with: the Catholic Church is in decline because it won’t modernize and adopt liberal values that are increasingly popular among Americans. “So they go elsewhere.”
Just where can anyone go that will take them closer to God?
If you truly believe that God does exist, and that eternity in either Heaven or Hell awaits each of us, and that Jesus Christ is indeed the living Son of God whom we can receive in Holy Eucharist, then just where do you go outside the Catholic Church to get closer to God?
When our personal judgement day comes, we will be judged on our own actions, not the actions of others. Christ said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14:15)” Christ did not say, “Well, if you see lousy Church leadership, then of course, go elsewhere.”
Where did Christ teach that a same sex union is indeed a holy marriage to be blest by the Church? And where did Christ give His permission and blessings on the other issues at hand? Especially abortion.
What did Christ mean at Luke 10:10-12?
